Privacy Policy

Zack Tax does not collect your information. This policy explains what that means, precisely, and what it does not protect you from.

The short version. Everything you enter — income, expenses, receipts, tax documents — is stored in your own browser on your own device. It is never transmitted to us, because there is no server to transmit it to. We have no account system, no database, and no way to see your records.

1. What we collect

Nothing. We operate no accounts, no logins, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking scripts. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, Social Security number, or taxpayer identification number.

We cannot identify you, contact you, or retrieve anything you have entered.

2. Where your data lives

Zack Tax stores your records using two standard browser storage systems on the device you are using:

Both are controlled by your browser and are accessible only to this website on the device where they were created. They are not synchronised to any cloud service by us.

3. What we can see

Because Zack Tax is delivered as a website, our hosting provider records ordinary web server information when you load a page. This typically includes your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser type. This is standard for every website on the internet and is used for delivery and security only.

These server logs contain no information you enter into the app. They cannot reveal your income, expenses, receipts, or documents.

4. Third parties

Zack Tax loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When it does, Google receives the request, including your IP address, under its own privacy policy. Once loaded, the fonts are cached and the app works with no further outside requests.

We use no analytics provider, no advertising network, no error-reporting service, and no customer support tooling. We share nothing with anyone, because we hold nothing to share.

5. What this does not protect you from

Anyone with access to your unlocked device can read your records. Zack Tax has no password of its own. Your device passcode or login is the only thing standing between another person and your financial information. If you share a device, consider whether that is acceptable.

Backup files are unencrypted. The file you download contains everything, including receipt images, in plain readable form. Store it somewhere you consider safe. If you put it in a cloud drive or email it to yourself, it is protected only by whatever protects that service.

6. Losing your data

Because we hold nothing, we cannot restore anything. Your records are erased if you clear your browsing data, uninstall the browser, reset the device, or lose it.

Browsers may also delete stored data on their own when space runs short, and some mobile browsers clear it after a period of not visiting a site. Adding Zack Tax to your home screen substantially reduces this risk. Downloading a backup eliminates it.

7. Children

Zack Tax is intended for adults operating a business. It is not directed at children and we knowingly collect no information from anyone, of any age.

8. Your rights

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, and delete personal information a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to disclose or erase.

You exercise the equivalent control directly: export your data with the backup button, and erase it with Erase all data in Settings. Both are immediate and complete.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If we ever introduce accounts or server-side storage — which would fundamentally change everything above — we will say so prominently rather than quietly amending this page.
